| Cacti Win to Extend Series Lead to 2-0 | Already in trouble in the Triple A World Series, the Detroit Death Stars knew they needed a strong outing from their starter and good production on offense. They got one of the two.
The Death Stars failed to put much together on offense and wasted an impressive 6.1-inning effort from right-handed starter Juan Lucero, falling 2-1 to the Albuquerque Cacti at The Death Star today. The loss put the Death Stars in an even deeper hole -- they now trail Albuquerque 2-0.
Keijiro Ishii's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a cutter from Ben Bower for a 2-run home run. It put Albuquerque in front, 2-1.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Albuquerque skipper John Greenwood. "I can't complain."
Game 3 is scheduled for Friday, October 29th, 2038 at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. The scheduled starters for the game are Sergio Solis for Detroit and Tomohito Ihara for Albuquerque.
