| Cacti, Death Stars Play 10 to Settle Game 1, Albuquerque Now Leads Series 1-0 | One game in and the Triple A World Series is already looking exhausting.
The Albuquerque Cacti and the Detroit Death Stars needed 10 innings to settle Game 1, with the Cacti finally taking the 5-4 victory at The Death Star. Earning player of the game honors in the win was Albuquerque starting pitcher Ken Stein, who threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. The Cacti and Death Stars will play a best-of-7 series.
Yutaka Ikeda's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With no one out, he rapped a cutter from Ben Bower for a solo home run. It put Albuquerque in front, 5-4.
"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Stein. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are Manuel Pena for the Albuquerque Cacti and Sergio Solis for the the Detroit Death Stars.
