| Beavers Hammered by Ferdig, Drop Game 2 to Republic | The So Cal Republic relied on the hitting of center fielder Jarred Ferdig to get by the Portland Beavers, 11-3, in Game 2 of the Divisional Championship today. For the game, Ferdig hit 2 home runs. The clubs are now tied, 1-1.
Ferdig delivered in the top of the third inning for So Cal. With the game tied and the bases empty, the center fielder hit a solo home run to right.
"I like easy wins," Ferdig told the So Cal Today. "And easy wins in the playoffs are even better."
Game 3 is set to be played Friday at House of the Republic. Slated to start are Yoshiaki Kojima for Portland and Masafumi Tamura for So Cal.
