| Almost There: Havana On Cusp of R3 Triumph After 9-3 Win | The Havana Stogies moved to within one game of the ABL World Series today, downing the visiting Portland Beavers at The Humidor by a score of 9-3. Stogies right fielder Yeow-whye Jing was named player of the game after he hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 5. The win gives the Stogies a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 League Pennant.
The game turned with one out in the bottom of the seventh when Jing, who is a three-time All-Star, hit a 2-run home run. It propelled the Stogies into the lead, 5-3.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Jing.
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow. Slated to start are Felipe De La Hoya for Portland and Levi Donahoo for Havana.
