Stogies Hammered by McFarland, Drop Game 3 to G.o.D.

The Tonga G.o.D. have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Havana Stogies, winning 6-3 at Isle of Destiny today. G.o.D. first baseman Scott McFarland was named player of the game after he was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The win cuts the deficit facing the G.o.D. to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Divisional Championship.

Tonga third baseman Ruben Estrada helped the G.o.D. go up, 4-3, in the bottom of the third inning. With the game tied, Estrada hit a run-scoring double off Havana pitcher Camilo Pascual.

"We'll savor this win," Estrada told the Tonga Herald, "then get ready for the next game."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Isle of Destiny. The scheduled starters for the game are Jorge Salazar for Havana and Tu'utaki Eua for Tonga.
