| McKenzie Handcuffs Rockhounds, Tornadoes Seize 3-0 Advantage in R2 | The Kansas City Tornadoes are one game away from a sweep of the Divisional Championship after stifling the Midland Rockhounds by a score of 1-0 at Field of Dreams today. Tornadoes left-hander Magyver McKenzie was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of shutout ball. Kansas City now holds a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 series.
McKenzie delivered a quality start for Kansas City. The 6' 7" left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits over 7.1 innings of work.
"Teams don't get here by being incompetent, so I really wasn't expecting this," McKenzie said. "I just kept throwing and they kept missing."
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow in Midland. Slated to start are Tanner Johnson for Kansas City and Ruben Fernandez for Midland.
