| Galdos, Kansas City Start Divisional Championship Strong with Home Win | The Kansas City Tornadoes powered past the visiting Midland Rockhounds, 3-1, in the opener of the Divisional Championship at Debris Field today. Kansas City third baseman Armando Galdos hit 2 home runs, to lead the charge. The Tornadoes now lead the series 1-0.
The Tornadoes took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning. Facing Midland hurler Tony López with two outs, Galdos hit a solo home run.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Kansas City manager Fernando Vargas. "It's usually not just one thing."
Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow at Debris Field in Kansas City. Slated to start are Andy Mendoza for Midland and Fidel Castro for Kansas City.
