| Cacti Win to Extend Series Lead to 2-0 | The Albuquerque Cacti faced a challenging opponent in Silver Lake Baristas right-hander Cesar Garcia, but did just enough to squeak out a 2-1 win in Game 2 of the Triple A League Championship today. Albuquerque now leads 2-0 in the best-of-7 series. The Cacti won despite the Baristas getting an excellent start from starter Garcia, who allowed 1 earned run at scattered 5 hits over 8 innings.
Keijiro Ishii's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a fastball from Angelo Cobian for a run-scoring double. It put Albuquerque in front, 2-1.
"Things broke our way today and that's great," Cacti manager John Greenwood said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."
The next game is scheduled for Wednesday at Albuquerque Sports Stadium in Albuquerque. Slated to start are Jesús Espinosa for Silver Lake and Terry Yarrigle for Albuquerque.
