Amaya Slugs Bombers to 11-10 Win

The South Carolina Bombers topped the So Cal Republic, 11-10, with shortstop Tony Amaya playing a big role. Amaya belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Bombers in the win. South Carolina reliever Charlie Wife was credited with the win, to go to 3-0. Tony Bacon took the loss for So Cal. The Bombers improved to 43-54.

Amaya had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 3-1 fastball from Tony Bacon, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Bombers a 11-10 lead. It was the 29th home run of the year for Amaya.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said South Carolina skipper Randy Huggett.
