| Pivotal Game 5 Goes to Host G.o.D., 5-3 | Tonga designated hitter Kiyonobu Yamasaki was the key at Isle of Destiny today, being named player of the game as he powered the G.o.D. to victory in a critical Game 5 of the Divisional Round. The G.o.D. took the 5-3 win over the Hawaii Islanders to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.
The game turned with one out in the bottom of the seventh when Yamasaki, who is a three-time Gold Glove Award winner, hit a 2-run home run. It propelled the G.o.D. into the lead, 5-3.
"It was a good effort all around," said Yamasaki.
The next game is set to be played Saturday at Aloha Stadium. Slated to start are Salah bin Atif for the Tonga G.o.D. and Jason Keeping for the the Hawaii Islanders.
