Islanders Clip G.o.D. 3-2 in R1 Contest

The Hawaii Islanders topped the Tonga G.o.D. by the score of 3-2 and moved into a 2-2 tie in the Divisional Round today. The largest share of the credit went to player of the game and Hawaii starter Fred Argueta, who threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball in the win.

Hawaii third baseman Michael Carew helped the Islanders go up, 2-0, in the top of the second inning. With the game tied, Carew hit a 2-run double off Tonga pitcher Adhipa Vemireddy.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Argueta.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are David Lidstone for the Hawaii Islanders and Tu'utaki Eua for the the Tonga G.o.D..
