Sarinana Leads Sabercats to Win over Grognards

The Sedona Sabercats beat the St. Paul Grognards, 8-5, at The Lair at Sabercat Field. Sedona center fielder Eduardo Sarinana earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Tony Cordova was the winner. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 9 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. Steve Tomasello was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 12 of 12 save opportunities.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the fifth inning. That's when right fielder Steve Carlton Jr. reached on an error by the P. The Sabercats went on to win.

"We came out aggressive," said Sabercats manager Jack Hall. "We came out swinging the bats."
