| Stogies Win at Hawaii, 6-1 | Havana center fielder Nobutsugu Yamaguchi was instrumental in his team's 6-1 win over the Hawaii Islanders. Yamaguchi, who is a two-time All-Star, went 2-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Stogies. Jorge Salazar earned the win to go to 11-5. He allowed 1 earned run on 10 hits, with no walks and 5 strikeouts. The Stogies, now 65-29, have won 5 in a row.
Yamaguchi had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the sixth inning, when he hit a 2-run double. The Stogies went on to win.
