| Aceituno Stars in Varmits Win | The Yuma Varmits beat the The Stinging Larvae, 5-1, at The Queen. The win was largely due to the efforts of left fielder Bobby Aceituno, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Brad Busler got the win, improving to 3-5. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 8 hits and 1 run, while striking out 9 and walking 2. The Varmits are now 26-37, while the Larvae fall to 32-31.
Aceituno contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Yuma in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 1-0, Aceituno took a curveball from Josh Cargill and stroked the home run to left. His 14th home run of the season allowed the Varmits to leap in front, 3-1.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Aceituno told the Yuma Chronicle.
