| Grognards Edge Cardinals, 3-2 | St. Paul beat Montreal at The Thunderdome, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Bernard Young, who earned player of the game honors. The winning pitcher was Young, now 4-3. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 9. Alex Maldonado was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 6 save opportunities.
Armando Rivera aided the St. Paul cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Rivera told the St. Paul Today: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."
