| Seawolves Sneak Past Grognards, 6-5 | Despite a fine performance by second baseman Julio Lemus, the St. Paul Grognards suffered a 6-5 loss to the Erie Seawolves. Lemus was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Even with the win, the Seawolves have a dismal 18-42 record.
Had Cortez Figueroa not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Figueroa hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Seawolves.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Figueroa said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
