Victory Pushes Pirates Record to 33-28

The Yuma Varmits and Paradise Island Pirates brought some excitement to The Range.

The Paradise Island Pirates got a strong performance from pitcher Adrian Bejar, who stymied the Yuma offense en route to a 6-2 win at The Range. The Pirates bumped their record to 33-28 with this latest triumph.

Joel Smart hit a run-scoring double off Ryan Conroy in the top of the second, which put the Pirates in front, 1-0. In addition to the double, Smart had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Bejar told the Paradise Island Daily.
