| Pirates Win at Yuma, 8-3 | Bobby Aceituno had a good game, but he could not keep the Yuma Varmits from falling, 8-3, to the Paradise Island Pirates at The Range. The Yuma left fielder went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once in the loss. Teguh Sukarno got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Varmits to 2 earned runs on 6 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 1. The Pirates bumped their record to 32-27 with this latest triumph.
The Pirates had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the eighth. The score was 8-2, Paradise Island, with one out. Yuma, with the bases loaded, was mounting a threat. Travis Till dug in at the plate, but on a 0-1 cutter, he hit into a double play.
