| Maddocks on Fire, 5-for-5 Against Paradise Island | Today at Predator Park, Leo Maddocks put on an impressive display.
The Victoria Totems left fielder tagged Paradise Island pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the Paradise Island Pirates by the score of 9-4.
"The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Maddocks said. "5-for-5 ain't bad in any league."
Despite the terrific performance, the Totems manager was unwilling to offer his left fielder much praise, saying he holds his "whole roster" accountable for losses.
"Leo told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager Keiji Jouon said.
Leo Maddocks doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.\n
This year Maddocks is hitting .314 with 8 home runs and 31 RBIs in 50 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .354 with 12 walks and 24 runs scored. |
