| Sabercats Solve Totems, 4-2 | The Sedona Sabercats faced a tough opponent in Victoria pitcher Remon de Groot, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Royal Athletic Park by a final score of 4-2. de Groot went 5 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Steve Tomasello earned save number 9. Sedona goes to 21-33, Victoria to 32-22.
Had Alex Villanueva not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Villanueva hit a 2-run double. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Sabercats.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Villanueva, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
