| Victory Pushes Grognards Record to 31-24 | The St. Paul Grognards topped the Normal Nutcrackers, 6-4, in TMLR action at The Thunderdome. The player of the game was St. Paul pitcher Trent Gahan. Orlando Alvares, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. The second-place Grognards raised their record to 31-24.
St. Paul took a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out, center fielder Armando Rivera hit a grand slam home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"Feels good to get the job done," Gahan said after the game.
