| Smart Shines in Pirates Win | The Paradise Island Pirates downed the Wichita Storm, 4-2, at Predator Park. Joel Smart led the way, going 3-for-4 for Paradise Island. Paradise Island starter Matt Taylor was credited with the win after throwing 101 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 4-1. Mike Taylor got the save, the 9th for him this season.
The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth when Smart, who is tied for 9th in the TR in triples with 2, hit a 3-run home run. It propelled the Pirates into the lead, 4-1.
Smart told a Paradise Island Daily reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
The Pirates bumped their record to 26-24 with this latest triumph.
