Victory Pushes Nutcrackers Record to 38-14

The Normal Nutcrackers defeated the Panana City Bombers, 4-1, at The Nutcracker Suite today. Leading the charge for Normal was left fielder Carlos Torres. He was 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 2 walks. Reliever Willie Maldonado picked up the win. His record improves to 3-1. Mike Backman took the loss. Alfredo Velasquez picked up the save, his 1st.

Normal took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out, shortstop Kevin Bryant hit a 2-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.

"I like what I saw today," said Normal manager Richard Lawson, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."

Normal has an impressive 38-14 record.
