Storm Need Extra Frames to Get Past Grognards
Wichita Storm starter David Alvarez was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the St. Paul Grognards, 4-3. The win was credited to Jose Mata in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Bernard Young took the loss. Wichita, at 21-22, sits in 4th place in the TMLR Otto Velez Division.

Late-game drama came in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no one out and a runner on 2nd, the batter, Eddie Alvarez, hit a single. It helped Wichita seize the win.

"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Alvarez. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
