| Varmits Rally For Late Win Over Totems | Victoria third baseman Justin White was sensational. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Yuma beat the Totems, 11-8. White was named the player of the game despite the loss. Israel Garza got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. The save was Mark Keitz's, his 2nd.
Yuma used the timely hitting of Troy Mills to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Varmits on top, 8-7. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It's good to win," Mills told the Yuma Chronicle. "I like to have fun doing it."
The Varmits, at 15-24, sit in 5th place in the TMLR Otto Velez Division.
