| Stogies Trip Islanders in Extras | Havana starter Jimmy Hunter pitched effectively against the Hawaii Islanders at Aloha Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a 5-2 win. Felipe Arreola converted his 2nd save in 4 tries. Havana improves to 64-29 with the win. They lead their division by 16 games.
The Stogies got a big at-bat from third baseman Taylor Bastien. For the game, Bastien went 1 for 5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 21st home run of the season gave Havana a 5-2 lead.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Havana manager Reynaldo Vázquez.
