Alvarez Lays Hammer Down in 2-1 Win

The 2038 season is getting ugly for Erie.

David Alvarez was superb against Erie. The right-hander, who is tied for 9th in the TR with a 3 quality starts, had a changeup that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 2-1 Storm victory. Wichita is now 9-14, while Erie is 4-19.

Alvarez subdued the Erie offense. The Wichita right-hander allowed a mere 2 hits over 8 innings, while fanning 13. His season record goes to 1-3 with the win.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Wichita manager Ramón Rivera. "Our pregame was pretty good."
