| Nutcrackers Win at Montreal, 2-1 | Montreal wasted a solid 6-inning effort from starting pitcher Arthur Pickering, losing to Normal, 2-1, at Denis Coderre Stadium. The save went to Bill Cortez, his 4th this season. The Nutcrackers bumped their record to 18-7 with this latest triumph.
The Nutcrackers got a big at-bat from right fielder Orlando Estrada. For the game, Estrada went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Normal a 2-0 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Estrada said after the game.
