| Sabercats Solve Varmits, 5-2 | The 2038 season is getting ugly for Yuma.
The Sedona Sabercats got a stellar effort from pitcher Alfredo Alejandre, helping Sedona score a 5-2 win over the visiting Yuma Varmits. The winning pitcher was Alejandre, now 1-2. He tossed 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 6.
The Sabercats got a big at-bat from designated hitter Rogelio Rivera. For the game, Rivera went 1 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave Sedona a 2-1 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Rivera said after the game.
At 9-16, Sedona is in last place in the TMLR Fred McGriff Division.
