| Cisneros Helps Nutcrackers Run Win Streak to 7 | The Normal Nutcrackers beat the Panana City Bombers, 8-6, at Donald J. Trump Presidential Stadium. The win was largely due to the efforts of third baseman Carlos Cisneros, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-2 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Normal reliever Bill Oballe picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Erik Kistler absorbed the loss. Bill Cortez picked up the save, his 1st.
The Nutcrackers got a big at-bat from first baseman Pete Braithwood. For the game, Braithwood went 1-1 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Normal a 8-5 lead.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Braithwood told the Normal Times.
The Nutcrackers, at 13-4, have now won 7 straight.
