Sabercats Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Tribbles
The Sedona Sabercats beat the Rosewell Tribbles, 4-2, at Classified Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of catcher Alex Villanueva, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-2 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. John Neal was the winning pitcher. Over 8 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with no walks and 3 strikeouts. The Tribbles, now 7-10, have lost 5 in a row.

Villanueva had a game-changing double in the top of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from Cesar Reyes, he banged a run-scoring double to right-center, giving the Sabercats a 3-2 lead. It was the 4th double of the year for Villanueva.

Rosewell manager Anthony Mays said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
