| Storm Stun Cardinals, 4-3 | The Wichita Storm eked out a 4-3 win versus the Montreal Cardinals at The Storm Center. Nobody did more than pitcher David Alvarez, who captured player of the game honors. The winner was Jose Mata in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Sal Medrano took the loss. Losses have been few and far between for the Cardinals so far this season. Their record drops to 10-3.
Miguel Loya had the critical at-bat for Wichita. With two out in the bottom of the ninth inning, he hit a walk-off run-scoring single. It gave Wichita the 4-3 walk-off win.
"This place was rockin'," said Loya.
