| Grognards Throttle Storm, 7-1 | It was a good time at The Thunderdome, where fans came to watch the Wichita Storm and St. Paul Grognards get after it.
St. Paul right-hander Jim Shaffner made an effective start against the Wichita Storm at The Thunderdome, leading his team to a 7-1 win. The Grognards, now 7-3, have hit the ground running this season.
Julio Lemus hit a 2-run double off Omar Diaz in the bottom of the first, which put the Grognards in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, Lemus had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
In comments to the St. Paul Today, Shaffner admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
