| Extra-Inning Win by Cardinals over Pirates | Despite a fine performance by right fielder Alex Nenez, the Paradise Island Pirates suffered a 7-6 loss to the Montreal Cardinals. Nenez was 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He scored 2 times. Montreal, now 6-0, has gotten their season off to a good start.
Gabriel Orozco's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a fastball from Mike Taylor for a run-scoring double. It put Montreal in front, 7-6.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Montreal manager Carlos Lora.
