| Nutcrackers Bridle Storm, 3-1 | Normal and Wichita duked it out at The Storm Center and the Nutcrackers came out victorious.
Alfredo Velasquez never let the Storm get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his splitter, to pitch the Nutcrackers to a 3-1 win. The Nutcrackers raised their record to 2-1.
Ruben Calvan chipped in for Normal with a solo home run in the top of the seventh. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Normal skipper Richard Lawson.
