| Varmits Win at Rosewell, 8-4 | The Yuma Varmits beat the Rosewell Tribbles, 8-4, at Classified Field. The Varmits got a fine performance from right fielder Jose Marquez, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. The Varmits raised their record to 2-1.
Miguel Moreno aided the Yuma cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh. For the game, the second baseman drove in one run.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Moreno.
