| Islanders Even With G.o.D. After Extra-Innings Win | In a crucial game, the Hawaii Islanders put on their best show, beating the Tonga G.o.D. by a final score of 6-5 today. Jordan Vargas earned player of the game honors, as he was 3-5 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Hawaii and Tonga are now tied at 1 wins apiece in the best-of-7 affair.
Late in the game, third baseman Michael Carew had a big at-bat for Hawaii. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring triple off Jaiden Harris. The play gave the Islanders a 6-5 lead.
"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Leland Ray.
Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday, October 19th, 2038 at Isle of Destiny. Slated to start are Cruz Miguel for Hawaii and Toa Fotu Taurus for Tonga.
