The Pirates got a fine performance from right fielder Alex Nenez, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win pushes Paradise Island to a record of 1-1.
The Pirates got a big at-bat from first baseman Beau Dabrowski. For the game, Dabrowski went 1-5 with a double. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave Paradise Island a 4-3 lead.
