| Hogg Shines in Bomberos Win | The 2038 season is getting ugly for Tunica.
The El Paso Bomberos defeated the Tunica Diamonds, 7-2, at Clam Jammer Dome. El Paso third baseman Jefferson Davis Hogg was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 3-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. James Sirico got credit for the win, improving to 5-4. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 6 innings. Jose Caballero converted his 3rd save in 3 tries.
The Bomberos got a big at-bat from right fielder Chris Trevino. For the game, Trevino was 1 for 1 with a double. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 13th double of the season gave El Paso a 1-0 lead.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said El Paso manager Bruce Joyner.
El Paso goes to 29-41, Tunica to 24-46.
