| Bomberos Need Extra Frames to Get Past Cyclones | Brooklyn got a terrific performance from pitcher Bobby Mitchell, but it wasn't enough to beat the El Paso Bomberos. El Paso won the The Back Draft contest, 4-2. Mitchell was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball. Today's win puts El Paso at 27-38, while Brooklyn falls to 37-28.
El Paso won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With no outs and Ismael Lara on the mound for Brooklyn, catcher Vinny Rodriguez hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Bomberos fans to their feet.
Rodriguez told a El Paso Citizen reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
