| Phesants Come Back Late to Top Commies | The Phesants had to overcome a fine performance from Caribbean pitcher Jim Alt to grab a 9-7 win at Castro Field. Alt allowed no earned runs over 6.1 innings. Aberdeen reliever Fernando Moran picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jose Rodriguez shouldered the loss. Moises Casillas was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 19 of 22 save opportunities.
Justyn Bieber hit a 2-run double off Jose Rodriguez in the top of the ninth, which put the Phesants in front, 8-7. In addition to the double, Bieber had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Bhim Varuni.
Aberdeen is now 29-38.
