| Commies Edge KO, 1-0 | Caribbean starter Edwin Lopez pitched effectively against the Long Beach KO at Knockout Stadium by Brooklyn Decker. The left-hander led his team to a 1-0 win. Lopez picked up the win for Caribbean, going 5.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 3-2. The Commies bumped their record to 34-29 with this latest triumph.
Carlos Cabanez drove in one run for Caribbean. The 21-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Stephen Reese. It was his 25th RBI of the season.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Cabanez told the Caribbean Herald.
