Dominant Performance by Cardoso in Tunica Win

The Tunica Diamonds got a stellar performance from pitcher Ricardo Cardoso, who handcuffed the Kyoto offense en route to a 1-0 win at Clam Jammer Dome. Andres Castaneda notched his 11th save in 11 chances. Even with the win, the Diamonds have a dismal 20-40 record.

Cardoso tossed 126 pitches over 8.1 innings to clinch the win for the Diamonds. The right-hander allowed just 5 hits, while racking up 9 strikeouts in the game.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Tunica manager Chet Hooper said.
