| Commies Get Close Win Over Fighting Iguanas | Caribbean rode a fine outing from starter Patrick Blakey to victory over the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas at Castro Field. The final score was 2-1. Blakey, now 1-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing 1 earned run. The Commies bumped their record to 32-27 with this latest triumph.
The Commies got a big at-bat from third baseman Alex Graves. For the game, Graves was 2-4 with a double. In the bottom of the eighth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 14th double of the season gave Caribbean a 2-1 lead.
