| Strong Style Win at Santa Barbara, 5-4 | The Kyoto Strong Style downed the Santa Barbara Suenos, 5-4, at Dream Park. Joe Koehn led the way, going 3-for-4 for Kyoto. The win was Roberto Vargas's in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Jerry Guzman took the loss for Santa Barbara. Brian Saltzman picked up the save, his 3rd.
The Strong Style got a big at-bat from third baseman Gabriel Vega. For the game, Vega was 2-5 with a double. In the top of the seventh, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 26th double of the season gave Kyoto a 5-4 lead.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Santa Barbara manager Robby Tate said following the tough loss.
The Suenos, now 16-39, have lost 6 straight.
