The Scottsdale Scorpions relied on the hitting of catcher Nelson Madrigal to stop the Barbados Revenge, 10-8. For the game, Madrigal was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Isaiah Bean, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 4 innings.
With two out in the bottom of the second, Billy Goode stroked a go-ahead 2-run single. It was his 53rd hit of the season and put Scottsdale in front, 3-2.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Madrigal.
The Scorpions sit in 4th place in the RCLR Tony Fernandez Division with a record of 21-34.
