The Tunica Diamonds defeated the Brooklyn Cyclones, 4-3, at Clam Jammer Dome today. Leading the charge for Tunica was second baseman Sandy Monge. He was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Even with the win, the Diamonds have a dismal 16-36 record.
Monge had a game-changing double in the bottom of the ninth. On a full count curveball from Joey Cabler, he banged a 2-run double to center, giving the Diamonds a 4-3 lead. It was the 4th double of the year for Monge.
