| Koenig Hot, KO Cold | It wasn't easy but the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas made it look that way.
Starter John Koenig shut out the Long Beach KO despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas cruised to victory, 3-0. Koenig allowed only 4 hits and rang up 8 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
To date this season Koenig is 5-3 with 8 starts and an ERA of 3.09 with 73 strikeouts in 70 innings. |
