Talavera Now 3-0 After Subduing Phesants

Tunica turned a good effort from starter Jorge Talavera into a win over the Aberdeen Phesants at Pittodrie Stadium. The final score was 7-1. Andy Morgan closed it out for his 1st save. Even with the win, the Diamonds have a dismal 15-32 record.

Talavera, a native of San Nicolas de los Garza, Mexico, was dealing all game. He kept Aberdeen hitters off-balance, while giving the Diamonds 6 quality innings. Talavera threw 85 pitches, allowing 1 hit and striking out 7.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Talavera told the Tunica News.
