Marcano Shuts Out Tunica

Before the game, Ricky Marcano said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at Clam Jammer Dome, the KO pitcher whitewashed the Tunica Diamonds 1-0.

"I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Marcano said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my curveball even when I was behind in the count."

The Long Beach starter held Tunica scoreless, giving up 3 hits while registering 8 strikeouts and issuing 1 walk.

"We didn't have very many good at-bats," Diamonds manager Chet Hooper said in his postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."

To date this season Marcano is 3-7 with 10 starts and an ERA of 3.36 with 84 strikeouts in 80.1 innings.
